For producing product photos and videos, the main features of a DSLR camera that you should look for are the following.

• Manual mode. Manual mode is important because it lets you take full control of the camera’s aperture and shutter speed. Auto modes can be useful, but they can’t always get things right. Auto mode can also change exposure settings slightly between shots or during the course of a video, leading to inconsistent results.
• Video mode. To capture product videos — and to make interactive 360 product spins — you’ll need a camera that can shoot videos. Nikon D7100

3. Nikon D7100: $1,200The D7100 is one of Nikon’s best crop sensor DSLRs. In contrast to full-frame cameras, a “crop sensor” DSLR has a photo sensor that is smaller than standard 35mm film. However, this camera is packed with the latest technology and it’s also cheaper than the full-frame models. Nikon dropped the use of an optical filter in this model, which makes it more prone to undesirable moiré (or aliasing) patterns when shooting items with fine patterned detail. Canon EOS 6D

5. Canon EOS 6D: $2,000. This is Canon’s entry-level full-frame camera, but it has some nice features, such as WiFi. This enables you to control the camera through your smartphone and send your images directly to your computer. The 20-megapixel sensor provides great image quality in stills and video.

Canon EOS 70D

6. Canon EOS 70D: $1,200.The EOS 70D features a 20-megapixel crop sensor that is less expensive than Canon’s full-frame offerings. Sony ALPHA SLT-A77

9. Sony ALPHA SLT-A77: $1,500. Sony cameras don’t offer as many full-frame options. But Sony’s crop cameras, like the SLT-A77, are highly competitive. The A77 features a 24-megapixel sensor, with a vast array of video options. Sony’s SLT technology also provides better autofocus during video recording.

10. Sony ALPHA SLT-A65: $750. The SLT-A65 offers the same 24-megapixel sensor as the A77 but cuts down on the autofocus points and frames per second to give a less expensive package for those on a tighter budget.
